Álvarez-Vanegas, Alejandro

Alejandro Álvarez-Vanegas, PhD is a process engineer from the Universidad EAFIT, with a MSc in Sustainability Sciences from Leuphana University of Luneburg and a PhD in Higher Education for Sustainable Development from Maastricht University and the United Nations University-MERIT. He has been a full-time professor at EAFIT since 2015, currently serving in the Department of Natural Systems and Sustainability. His research focuses on transformative experiential learning and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), aiming to cultivate sustainability competences in students and educators within higher education institutions. An active citizen, he also serves on the boards of the Low Carbon City Foundation and the Otraparte Cultural Organisation.
