Childhood studies form an internationally respected sub-discipline predominantly carried out in social science, but gradually interdisciplinarily taking ground in educational sciences. The following article suggests that Comparative Education can benefit in manifold ways from internationally oriented childhood studies as well as vice versa. It discusses the programmatic combination of both disciplines and illustrates with the example of a research undertaken by the author, how international childhood studies and Comparative Education can be combined and which insights can be gained through this.
