Abstract

The article describes and discusses in a brief overview findings from pedagogy, genetics, epigenetics and cognitive neuropsychology on „perception“, „talent“, „intelligence“, „education“ and „consciousness“. On this basis the promises of artificial intelligence and the fears that artificial intelligence triggers are critically discussed. Why is artificial intelligence so successfull today? What distinguishes human intelligence from artificial intelligence? The conclusion is that education is the key to a sustainable interaction between human intelligence and artificial intelligence that serves human beings. Education ultimately puts human beings above machines.
