Since the publishing house was founded in 1987, we have been dedicated to publishing scholarly literature for readers in academia and professional practice. Our focus is on the humanities and social sciences, including pedagogy, psychology, sociology, folklore, musicology, linguistics, and educational research.

We publish high-quality monographs, anthologies, book series, and journals. Our programme includes approximately 3,000 titles currently in stock. Each year, we publish around 200 new titles, which are available in print and as e-books. Since 2015, Waxmann has also been part of the utb publishing group.
