Abstract
Using the immersive research strategy of LemaS as an example, this article discusses the specifics of practice-oriented educational research in the context of complex school Transformation processes. The background to the considerations presented is the expectation that school education should change in fundamental ways based on evidence and that educational research should in turn become relevant to practice. The change towards an inclusive school and teaching culture that fosters talent and performance that LemaS aims to achieve is a paradigmatic example of these dynamics. This mixed situation poses significant challenges for educational research. Among other things, the complexity of the subject of transformation and research makes it impossible to apply simplistic Frameworks for the design and evaluation of research processes and results. Against this background, the article formulates urgent questions that educational research must address in view of current social dynamics.
