Abstract

Within the context of the International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS) 2022, participating schools received individual school feedback reports. This article examines how results from international large-scale assessments can be prepared in a way that meaningfully supports school development processes. Drawing on research on use of evaluations, it discusses key challenges of international comparison studies, particularly regarding fair comparisons and reporting formats. An accompanying reception study evaluates the comprehensibility and use of the feedback reports. The results show that the reports are generally perceived positively, especially in terms of structure, clarity, and practical relevance. However, there is room for improvement concerning the involvement of stakeholders such as parents and students.
