Abstract

In order to make reflective use of artificial intelligence, it is essential that pupils from primary school onwards consciously perceive, understand and design algorithms, and consider their impact. This article presents a series of lessons for a first grade class that use educational robotics to promote computational thinking. Tasks using the educational robot Ozobot Evo teach key problem-solving skills such as decomposition, abstraction, algorithmisation and generalisation in a practical way, while also revealing indicators of special talents. Students strengthen also their reflective approach to AI.
