Abstract

This article addresses the question of how tasks and assessment formats need to be redefined under the conditions of digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI). It starts from the observation that AI already shapes school learning processes, while examinations often remain tied to traditional formats. This creates a structural tension between changing forms of learning and persistent logics of assessment. The article argues that this tension is also a matter of educational equity. Alternative task and assessment formats can help to systematically connect AI related competencies, critical thinking, reflection, and basic subject skills. They make it possible to render learning processes, reasoning, and diverse forms of achievement visible. For this to become effective, especially in schools facing challenging social conditions, reliable frameworks, adequate resources, and systematic teacher professional development are required.
