Abstract
The article highlights the significance of service learning as a method of education for sustainable development and outlines the state of research on service learning in the context of sustainable development at universities. Using the implementation of service learning seminars at three universities within the framework of the project “Senatra – Service Learning and Sustainable Transformation at Universities”, practical examples are described, and the conditions for their success are discussed based on initial empirical findings. It becomes particularly evident that effective facilitation of collaboration between students and partner organizations plays a central role.
