Abstract
This article provides a historically oriented overview from re-education policy to contemporary democracy education. It outlines key stages, paradigms, and debates from the post-war period to the present. A broad approach is adopted, encompassing not only institutionalized citizenship education but also less formalized approaches to Democracy education, which are particularly relevant in the current socio-political context.
