Abstract

This article presents the results of the research project “World Social Orientations of Migrants from Turkey”. This qualitative-reconstructive study focuses on a group of actors who have themselves encountered experiences of global society in many respects. The focus of the article is on the importance that migrants of Turkish origin attribute to formal learning places for learning about the world society. The results provide an insight into the extent to which specific characteristics of formal learning spaces can facilitate associated learning. The article concludes with suggestions for the design of learning spaces in which global society learning can be facilitated.
