Abstract
Plants do not receive enough attention in the societal discussion given the dangers to life on this planet. While the climate crisis occupies many people, the decline in biological diversity does not receive as much attention, although the impending catastrophe is likely to have other, by no means smaller, effects. In addition, both phenomena are closely related to each other, given the transgression of planetary boundaries. For this reason, the focus here should be on the political aspect of plants, which also deserves more attention in education for sustainable development.
