Abstract

For many years, the University of Kassel has been working on different levels in integrating education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into the teacher training from a Global Learning perspective (Christoforatou, 2016). Since two years the Kasseler project is part of the Qualitätsoffensive Lehrerbildung, a joint initiative of the Federal Government and the Länder, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and of the Projects for the implementation of the Framework in federal states by Engagement Global, funded by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project is working on the integration of an out-of-school location dealing with topics around global developments into the practical studies in the course Policy and Economics.
