Abstract

The segmentation of peace education into measures to be taken in contexts of relative tranquillity, measures to be taken in contexts of tension without armed fighting and measures for contexts of armed conflict is complemented by measures for the category of hybrid war against (today mainly Islamist) terrorism. For the latter task the following procedures are explicated: a reformulation of Islamic theology underlining the meaning of the mercy of God, peace oriented Islamic religious education in schools, social work measures preventing recruitment for terrorist groups, educational activities to prevent „counter-terrorism“ and peace education in regions where terrorism originates.
