The former Austrian vice chancellor and education minister, Erhard Busek, explains the origin and functioning of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) as well as its importance as a paradigm for the European process of integration. The Danube is a significant geopolitical “place” of migration and identity and receives a major role as central reference for social developments.
