Abstract

Abstract:
In the country with the worldwide highest amount of votes on matters by the population it would be expected that the political education is strongly promoted by the state as well as the civil society. The article points out why after a long time an intense discussion on political education in schools has been on the way. Especially the developments towards the coordination of the Volksschule would offer a good opportunity to redefine the significance and the focussing of political education
on one of the oldest democracies. In this important stage the
lack of a national institution for political education is particularly
noticeable.
