Abstract

This article focuses on the question of belonging of immigrants to school from a spatial point of view. Initially the theories of Bourdieu and Foucault will be discussed. Both theories match the idea of space as relational structure of order and can be linked together to a heuristic modell of space. Using the example of a school cultural concept and its practical interpretation in the case of migration, the conditions of inclusion and exclusion will be reconstructed then as practices of spatial order. The contribution ends with drawing a balance of the (possible) yield the spatial proceeding promises for concepts of intercultural education.
