Abstract

The increase in the number of internationally oriented private schools cannot be overlooked at present, as can be observed in Frankfurt/Rhine-Main. This raises the question of how these schools are embedded and brought to bear in the specific local context global city. It becomes evident that internationally oriented private schools have the function of a location factor for the local economic system. Their significance for the local public educational organization must be critically reflected.
