The Relevance of Mentors for the Professionalization of Prospective Teachers in Internships
Research Desiderata and Options for Action
Within long-term internships, mentors are highly relevant resources and cooperation partners for teacher students. While several studies already shed light on students’ competence development during such internships, only very little is known about the mentors’ perspective on their own role in the underlying learning and development processes. This report aims to highlight the relevance of mentors, to designate research desiderata and to identify options for action.
