Abstract

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the federal state with the lowest population density in Germany, the effects of demographic developments on the school network cannot be neglected. Therefore, coordinated school development planning will remain necessary to ensure that school authorities act in concert with one another and to provide the essential student transportation. However, the question arises as to the most suitable criteria for this kind of school development planning in order to produce the highest level of approval from as many stakeholders as possible.
