Long-term Eff ects of “LIFE – Experience Reading in Families” on Parental Reading Support
Family literacy programs are a good way to involve parents in their children’s education. Using the example of “LIFE – Experience reading in families”, the effect of the program on parental support during shared reading with their first graders was investigated. Both the parents’ and the children’s perspectives were taken into account. The program had a positive effect on various types of book interaction during shared reading directly after and six months after the end of the program.
