Qualification and Further Education of School Principals in German-Speaking Switzerland
In the German-speaking part of Switzerland, public schools have only been run by principals for a good 20 years. This means that the profession “school management” can look back on a very short history. At the same time, the late introduction of the profession has given principals significantly more competence than their collegues in other German-speaking countries. Both – the short history and the far-reaching competences – have an impact on the qualification and further education of school principals.
