Abstract

Schools serving disadvantaged communities are often characterized by a lack of innovation and externalization strategies. The paper asks whether a transformational leadership with data can help change these routines. Findings from two case studies on the leadership practice of successful principals show that leadership can help provide teachers with new perspectives on their students and increase the use of data.
