Abstract

Referring to the development of vocational orientation programs at school, the contribution addresses one fundamental issue: the lack of connection to students’ everyday life and the lack of attention for their individual experiences. For the author an adequate discussion of the theoretical background and of the concepts is necessary to work on the described problem. Based on a research project, the contribution demonstrates how the methodological perspective of reconstructive school research could help to gain a deeper knowledge of the students’ world, which could be useful for further discussions of vocational orientation programs at school and their theoretical frame.
