Homework as an Element of Individuation and the Support of Learning Processes – Good-Practice in Schools of the German School Award

At the schools of the German School Award, homework is not a major topic. Nevertheless, homework is an observable element of school quality regarding individuation and the support of learning processes. Though the traditional term of homework is being maintained, its implication of an exercise that is to be done outside of school is being questioned or abandoned. It also shows that the German School Award should focus more on the existing practice considering homework when visiting schools and when evaluating their documentations.
