Abstract

Cooperation between non-governmental organisations (NGO) and schools is of importance in the field of global education in Germany. However, NGO professionals are hardly addressed in current research about global education. In this study, results of an qualitative study about the implicit knowledge and orientations of NGO employees in their professional practice with schools are presented. Empirical data on NGO employees were collected with 16 narrative interviews and were analysed using the documentary method. Three types of orientations of NGO professionals are reflected regarding opportunities and risks of the cooperation for global learning at schools.
