Abstract
The article describes how you can enable global learning for students in humanities subjects (e.g. German, History, Religious Education, Music). In this context, the article outlines how students can be supported in their cultural-world-social identity work in the classroom. The focus is on cultural objectivities or teaching objects. The potential of these for pupils’ global learning is based both on the reflexive selection and on the numerous interpretations attributed to teaching objects due to their ambiguity and open-endedness of meaning. The explanations are illustrated by examples of teaching practice from different humanities subjects.
