Abstract

On the background of previous research about mutual pictures of Africa and Germany some results of an extensive interview-study will be presented. It has been done in cooperation with the University of Education Winneba (UEW) in Ghana and began 2013 by interviewing 60 teacher and secondary school students about Europe. The answers show images of Europe of an African elite of tomorrow. Their perspectives are influenced by collective memories and their own experiences of (neo-)colonial dependencies; but in any case full of optimism for a future they design for themselves.
