In 2017, the European Union celebrates 30 years of ERASMUS Programme, one of its most ambitious efforts undertaken to make young people familiar with Europe and the European Union. What does this programme stand for and what are new accents provided by Erasmus+, its follow-up programme? This paper tackles these questions and provides a concise overview on education programmes launched by the European Union while paying special attention to Erasmus programmes.
