Political and Democratic Education at School According to Student Teachers’ Assessments

Empirical Results of a Survey at a University of Education

Abstract

This article aims to explore the relevance that students attribute to schools and teachers concerning political and democratic education. The results indicate that students associate little effect, but heavy responsibility with these institutions. The assessments of advanced students are more appropriate und certain. Other explanatory variables are the level of interest in politics and left political affiliation.
