Abstract

The welfare of children requires cooperation between institutions of formal education on the one hand and families and the environment of the youth on the other based on partnership. This demand is not disputed, but there is still a lack of convincing concepts and approaches to establish a relevant practice. At the center of this article are the results of the still limited amount of empirical studies on the opinions of parents with a migration background about schools, their readiness to cooperate and the de facto cooperation between the socialization agents. Finally, an analytical framework is presented by means of which cooperation gaps can be recognized and systematically closed in order to create Regional Educational Communities.
