Abstract
In Germany, there is hardly any empirical evidence on second-career teachers entering the field of teaching without having completed a regular teacher training program before. The article compiles findings from countries having a greater amount of experience in focusing on that group of persons. Moreover, implications are shown for the topics of future research projects in Germany which are to be situated within the discourses of professionalization and school development.
