Humboldt’s idea that education is always self-education is called into question by the digitalization of our lives. Algorithms (perhaps) adopt what has been treated as a core anthropological statement about human beings. Current media education does not help here, however important it may be. With Edmund Husserl a way out of the impasse could be found and education could be reoriented.
