Abstract

Effective coordination of policies, programs and provisions at the local levels – i.e. coherent local transition management – increases the probability that young people will have a successful transition into vocational training and employment. In order to provide a sound basis for this type of transition management, data about the transitional pathways of school-leavers of secondary modern schools is being collected in two German municipalities (Leipzig and Stuttgart). Results of these studies are fed back into the local transition management leading to data-driven transition policies.
