With the possibility to transfer political governance functions from state actors to network cooperative actors from various areas in society, the goal of improving the effect of control resp. ¸governance‘ becomes united. When evaluating the network governance, the main difference between ¸governance of networks‘ and ¸governance through networks‘ is in the center of interest as are the specific coordination difficulties that spring from the, typical for networks, mix of both rational principles of action coordination (market and hierarchy). A suggestion is presented for the analytical version of the normative requirements that are connected to the goal in a ¸good governance‘ situation. Finally, some general questions concerning the evaluation of network governance are discussed.
