Prof. Dr. Karsten Speck is one of the two Project Leaders for the East and South African-German Centre of Excellence in Educational Research Methodologies and Management (CERM-ESA) at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in Germany. He is a professor of research methododologies in education and educational sciences at the Institute for Education. His research interests include teacher and university education as well as civic engagement.
