Holger Meyer graduated from University of Rostock with a diploma in electronical engineering and received a PhD in computer science from the same university in 1990. PhD-thesis was on Implementation of Realtime Database Systems. Since 1992 he is Assistant Professor at the Database and Information Systems Research Group at Computer Science Department (Lehrstuhl für Datenbank- und Informationssysteme). His teaching and research interests include fields such as databases and query processing, transactional support e.g. for workflow systems. He is co-author of a German text book on XML and Databases. Holger Meyer leads or is involved in several fundamental and applied research projects on digital libraries. In the “WossiDiA” project he is directing the IT-part.
