Ernst Wagner, Dr., lecturer and researcher at the UNESCO-Chair for Arts and Culture in Education at the University of Erlangen and the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. He studied art and taught visual arts at secondary schools. For 8 years he was employed by the Institute for School Quality, Munich (responsible for art, film and drama education). Graduated with a PhD in art history at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, his research is focused on Visual Literacy, Competences, Arts Education and Education for Sustainable Development / Heritage Education / Intercultural Communication – in the context of UNESCO. He is honorary professor at the Hong Kong University of Education.
