A Survey with Teacher Educators from North-Rhine Westphalia

Abstract

North Rhine-Westphalia’s teacher induction curriculum includes obligatory content aimed at professionalizing pre-service teachers for language education and linguistic diversity. This Survey explores how teacher educators in the induction phase address this topic in their seminars. Results indicate a generally solid level of implementation. However, specific approaches, such as linguistically responsive teaching, are implemented by the majority of participating teacher educators, while approaches involving family languages are less commonly used.
