Abstract

There is currently no definition for the term outcome in the environmental context. The usual definition of the term according to DeGEval standards focuses on the socio-economic component. An extension of the definition is therefore proposed for the ecological area. Based on a specific funding programme of the Federal Ministry for the Environment and with regard to the requirements for performance reviews for grants, examples of indicators are presented that can be used at project level to measure the achievement of project objectives and effectiveness. In the socio-economic field, the impact ladder has proven to be helpful in differentiating between outputs and outcomes. This was previously lacking in the ecological field and is presented here for the first time to a wider audience.

Keywords
