Abstract

Building on the findings of transformation research, this article examines the extent to which social transformations can be understood as social learning processes. What role do learning and educational processes play in profound social transformations? And to what extent are they necessary for the impending global sustainability transition? The dialogue between transformation studies and education studies on such questions can open up new perspectives for both disciplines. Latent and collective learning that have so far been underexposed will come into focus.
