Bozó, Péter

Péter Bozó (born 1980) is a music historian and research fellow at the Budapest Institute for Musicology of the Research Center for the Humanities. He obtained his PhD at the Budapest Music Academy in 2010 with a thesis devoted to Liszt’s songs and based on a study of the sources at Weimar. His book based on his dissertation (A dalszerzö Liszt [The song composer Liszt], 2016) was awarded the György Kroó Plaquette of the Hungarian Musicological Society in 2018. Since 2018, he has been the Editor-in-Chief of Studia Musicologica, the international journal of musicology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. As an OTKA, TÁMOP and Bolyai post-doctoral scholarship holder he has continued research work into operetta and Offenbach reception in Hungary. He is co-author of the volume Musical Salon Culture in the Long Nineteenth Century, published by Boydell & Brewer in 2019. His book Offenbach Performances in Budapest, 1920–1956 will be published soon as part of the series Cambridge Elements in Musical Theatre.
